The Trønder-Østløpet, taking place on June 17, 2025, at 7:00 PM, has its origins in the athletics club of the same name and has been held in Hommelvik since 2016. The course has been redesigned to start and finish at Øya Stadium, which was completed in 2013, and the new route features a profile with little elevation change and long straight stretches that allow for maintaining high speeds. The race is a popular test for participants ahead of the St. Olavsloppet and offers distances of 5 km and 10 km.
